Medline Europe — a staple medical devices manufacturer and distributor in the Europe — has relocated its offices in France, the Netherlands and Spain. This was done in partnership with independent workplace consultant, Solved part of the Parella Group, under a ‘customer-first’ design concept.

Rebranding for (greater) success

As a leading manufacturer and supplier of surgical and examination gloves, sterile procedure trays (SPTs) and other key hospital and surgical supplies, Medline Europe’s customer base has grown significantly, requiring an expansion of its workforce. This is in addition to a further diversification of its range of products and services, following a series of acquisitions over the years, including that of Asid Bonz, Hudson RCI®, and most recently, Microtek.

To meet the growing demand for its products, services, and solutions, as well as the expertise required, Medline needed to not only think long-term, but also redefine itself. This process included relocating to locales that facilitate improved visibility and impact and its proximity to clients.

Headquarters move from Arnhem to Utrecht

'Our relocation to this metropolitan hub represents a strategic step toward further modernisation and growth. This move isn't just about a change of address; it's a commitment to bolster our talent pool, foster new collaborations, and enhance our service offerings in a dynamic environment. We're confident this will allow us to deliver greater value to our employees, customers, and partners, solidifying our position as a market leader,' shared Ivo Goedman, Vice President Finance, International, who led the exercise.

The new 2,625-m2 office space is located at Catharijnesingel 47, 3511 GC Utrecht, Netherlands and is spread across the 4th and 5th floors of The Cath. This move will represent the most recent milestone in Medline Europe’s near 15-year history.

Beyond being centrally located, the new Medline Headquarters offer modern amenities, including state-of-the-art technology, collaborative workspaces, and breakout areas to facilitate creativity and innovation. Additionally, Medline’s efforts to establish robust sustainability credentials in its general operations and partnerships with healthcare practitioners (HCPs) is supported by the office building being Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method-Netherlands (BREEAM-NL)-certified. Last but not least, the company will also be able to strengthen its employee value proposition (EVP) and recruitment efforts.

Hervé Million, President, EMEA expanded on Goedman’s sentiments, noting ‘Medline prides itself on consistently evolving, towards reaching its greatest potential. We have historically been able to attract some of the best international talent and effectively manage our operations across Europe while in Arnhem. We plan to make our presence felt. Our move to Utrecht will further empower us to meet internal and external demands in even more impactful ways.’

Medline Spain: Bigger and better connected

Medline’s new office in Madrid is in Kudos Innovation Campus Las Mercedes, which is distinguished by its commitment to sustainability and innovation. Designed with eco-efficiency in mind, the campus integrates environmentally friendly technologies. It holds certifications, including the US Green Building Council (USGBC)’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum and WELL Health-Safety Rating 2024, which recognise its high standards in environmental and human health performance. Currently advancing its decarbonisation strategy and digital transformation, the campus ensures that 100 per cent of the electricity used in common areas comes from certified renewable sources.

Being part of one of Spain’s more advanced and environmentally responsible business hubs reinforces Medline’s efforts to operate with efficiency, responsibility, and a forward-looking mindset — values its customers can rely on. Additionally, the new location is well-connected by public transportation and just seven minutes from the Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport. This location ensures quick and convenient access for both local and international partners.

The new Medline Spain office is located at Calle de Campezo 1, Edificio 6, Planta 3, Lote A 28022 – Madrid, España.

Medline France: Upgraded for added convenience

Rounding off activities is the new office in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, in the Paris-region. Medline now occupies the 7th floor and half of the 6th floor of Building Australia. The space, which is more than 2,400 m² in size, is inspired by market stalls to reflect the company’s diverse and community-oriented culture. In addition to encouraging collaboration, it further reinforces Medline’s commitment to putting its customers first, ensuring its tradition of being a reliable partner nearby continues.

The space is conveniently located just a four-minute walk from the Saint-Quentin-En-Yvelines train station.

Prioritising both collaboration and sustainability, the office building Medline France now occupies has earned Haute Qualité Environnementale (HQE), Bâtiment Basse Consommation/Low-Consumption Building (BBC), and Effinergie energy efficiency certifications. This is in addition to having solar panels on its roof.

Million closed noting, ‘Moving our headquarters and relocating some of our offices to modern buildings isn't just about relocation; it's a deliberate investment in our future, ensuring we have a physical presence where we can best serve our clients and foster the collaborations that will drive our next phase of growth. This multifaceted approach strengthens our operational foundation and underscores our commitment to a dynamic business model built for a competitive and evolving landscape.’
