Medline Enhances Essential Oral Care Product Availability Across Europe

Medline’s manufacturing plant in Partizánske, Slovakia has reached a significant milestone: the successful launch of oral care kit production. These kits have been part of Medline’s portfolio since 2016 and are designed to help healthcare professionals maintain patient oral hygiene and prevent ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).

VAP remains a challenge for healthcare facilities, as it can prolong hospital stays and increase overall healthcare costs1. Medline’s oral care portfolio includes individual trays, which provide everything needed for a single episode of care, as well as 24-Hour-Kits that contain all necessities for continuous oral care over 24 hours.

Background

This project began in 2021, driven by Medline’s commitment to being closer to its European customer base. Traditionally, Medline’s business model has prioritised proximity to its clients, both in terms of understanding their needs and having operations that are physically nearby. Previously, these kits were produced in Mexico, resulting in lead times of several months.

With production now established in Slovakia, Medline can offer customisable oral care kits within the European market. Previously, customers were limited to standard kits or individual components. With Medline’s custom kits, customers now have the freedom and convenience of selecting components that meet their specific care needs all in one package. This unique solution further reinforces Medline’s commitment to putting their customers first and delivering high quality products. By streamlining production at the Partizánske facility, Medline also aims to shorten delivery times and bring products to customers more quickly.

“Thanks to this expanded capacity in our Europe-based production, we can respond more flexibly to market demands and meet the evolving needs of our growing customer base. We are pleased to support healthcare professionals with high-quality oral care products that enable efficient day-to-day work,” said Marian Bockaj, Production Manager.
