Medline Germany: Rooting Community & Sustainability in Kleve

At Medline, we believe that nurturing health extends beyond our commitment to healthcare systems; it encompasses the well-being of our people, our community, and the planet we share. This belief recently blossomed into a personal initiative at our Kleve facility where Medline EMEA employees gathered for our "Joy & Sorrow" tree planting day on the 28th March 2026.

We planted 25 new trees, a diverse mix of 15 species. Each was carefully chosen for its resilience in a changing climate and its vital role in welcoming local wildlife – especially the honeybees who already thrive in their bee houses – ensuring the environment stays healthy for generations. 

The team planted to celebrate the "Medline Babies" who arrived in our employees' families over the past five years. Trees were also planted in tribute to cherished colleagues who are no longer with us. It was a day where the tapestry of life’s joys and sorrows felt intensely real, reminding us that every individual story is valued, remembered, and celebrated.

Till Warburg, our Senior Director Operations EMEA, said: "This initiative genuinely captures the heart of Medline. It speaks to our deep roots, our unwavering focus on our people, and our honest commitment to the world we inhabit. We are planting living memories, hopes, and promises with these trees. This park, and every tree within it, becomes a testament to the community we’re building here – a place where our employees are valued, where we care for our shared environment, and where we strengthen the bonds that help us all flourish."

Barbara Zimmermann, Director QA Warehouse and Distribution, shared her personal vision: "For us, our park embodies a responsibility to our ecosystem. By planting these trees for our babies and remembering our colleagues, we’ve created a space where every rustle of leaves can stir a memory, spark joy, and remind us of our collective purpose. It’s a vibrant, breathing space for every generation of the Medline family."

The Medline Park is a living extension of our workplace, a haven inspired by the tranquil green spaces at Medline's U.S. sites. The team in Germany has nurtured it to be a place of quiet reflection during lunch, lively team gatherings, or peaceful weekend moments with family.
