Marathon® Skin Protectant

Marathon® Skin Protectant forms a strong protective layer over compromised skin, by way of a cyanoacrylate base. This wound-care product can be used as a barrier to protect skin wounds and damaged, fragile, periwound and peristomal skin from friction, moisture, shear or adhesive stripping.

This liquid cyanoacrylate skin protectant can also be used under medical devices if necessary.

Marathon provides complete skin wound care by way of the creation of a strong film that is thicker and more durable than most liquid skin protectants. This strong film is created when the cyanoacrylate base comes in contact with moisture on the skin’s surface. When the cyanoacrylate polymerises to the skin’s surface, the product remains on the skin and does not evaporate upon application.

In order to maintain skin integrity for even longer periods, 100 per cent of the Marathon Skin Protectant stays on the skin until exfoliable skin cells are shed naturally. This skin glue gives certainty to patients and their healthcare providers that they are thoroughly protected from further damage.
