Many hospitals are seeking new and innovative ways to shrink their environmental footprint. We design products, programs and packaging that consider the full lifecycle while maintaining product quality, and we strive to follow applicable labeling and marketing practices to support the well-being of those who use our products.
OUR APPROACH
Providing quality products that are safe for patients and the planet
High-income countries generate on average up to 0.5 kg of hazardous waste per hospital bed per day, while low-income countries generate on average 0.2 kg.1

SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMS
Sustainability Programs
Through product development we are working to understand their potential environmental impact. Therefore, for key product lines, we undertake life cycle assessments (LCAs) for the complete lifecycle of a product (cradle to grave), to enable us to identify focus areas for environmental improvement. These assessments are intended to help our customers in the healthcare sector identify and prioritise their sustainability areas. We are working towards increasing the number of products covered by an LCA, to provide measurable carbon savings across our portfolio.
