Medline Assembly Slovakia is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of remarkable growth, modernisation, and commitment to both its employees and the local community. What began as a small team in a refurbished building has blossomed into a key player in Medline's manufacturing network across Europe.

The celebration also comes as the company announces plans for a significant factory extension, signalling its continued expansion.
A humble beginning with a grand vision

‘Celebrating ten years of Medline Assembly Slovakia is a significant milestone that speaks to our company's enduring commitment to growth, quality, and our people. The incredible journey from a small startup to a key pillar of our European operations is a direct result of the dedication and resilience of our Slovakian team.’ Hervé Million, President EMEA noted.

The journey began 10 and a half years ago with Alexis Avet-Rochex, Plant Director, who joined as the very first employee in Slovakia. After six months of refurbishment, a small team of six formed the inaugural Slovakian team. The initial goal was to create a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that would become a cornerstone for the company’s expansion in Europe. The ambition was similar to today, but the numbers were vastly different.

‘At that time, we planned to build a plant with 75 employees by 2020, which eventually grew to 250,’ says Avet-Rochex. ‘I wanted to build a team grounded in strong values, collaboration, and continuous improvement.’
A decade of evolution and excellence

Over the past ten years, the plant has seen continuous improvement in its processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. What started as a small, close-knit group has grown into a diverse and motivated workforce of nearly 600 employees. The plant’s role within Medline’s global network has also expanded, now serving a broader range of divisions and reinforcing its position as a key player in the company’s manufacturing strategy.

Avet-Rochex says the journey has been one of ‘growth, adaptation, and strengthening—both in terms of processes and people.’

The heart of the plant: Its people

According to Avet-Rochex, the success of the plant is a direct result of the talent and passion of its employees. Every team member, from leadership to production floor operators, has played a vital role in driving efficiency and maintaining high quality standards.

‘I consider myself privileged to lead such a motivated and engaged team,’ he says. ‘Without their daily commitment and professionalism, none of the progress we've made would have been possible. It is their passion and resilience that make Medline Assembly Slovakia what it is today.’

A look to the future

As part of its anniversary celebration, Medline is set to break ground for an extension of the factory. This expansion is a testament to the plant’s ability to consistently exceed expectations and its readiness to support even greater growth. Avet-Rochex says the biggest lesson from the last decade is to ‘remain flexible, proactive, and prepared to meet future demands.’

The plant’s growth has also significantly impacted the local community. Medline Slovakia is now the largest employer in Partizánske, providing stable and meaningful jobs in a region where the automotive industry can be volatile. Beyond job creation, the plant’s products support the broader healthcare system, helping hospitals focus on patient care.

‘The unwavering commitment of our team in Slovakia has not only exceeded our expectations but has also strengthened our ability to serve customers across the continent. We are immensely proud of what we've built together and are excited for the future as we continue to expand our capabilities in this vital region.’ Million closed.
