Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Consultant

We are looking for a candidate for the full-time position of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Consultant. 

As our internal WMS Consultant, you are a solution-oriented professional with up to 5 years of experience in the implementation, support or optimisation of warehouse management systems (WMS). That is in addition to a good understanding of transport management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. You exemplify the combination of genuine tech passion and outstanding communication skills, aspire to lay the foundations for future-proof solutions, and can think on your feet and devise quick fixes.

You will have a key role in projects to implement and improve warehousing and distribution systems. At this moment, Medline is in an exciting phase of implementing a new WMS system across its European warehouses. This role will require frequent interactions with other IT teams, internal customers and external vendors.

As a member of the WMS team, within our Information Services (EU) group, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the new WMS, along with making sure the existing WMS application is stable and supported. You will be able to understand and verify business requirements, translating them into configuration changes for the various applications. You will also be responsible for the coordination of related change requests with the respective internal and external IT teams and/or the software vendor.

This position is based in our European headquarters in Arnhem, The Netherlands.


  • Collaboratively craft process- and/or software-related changes with your business liaisons
  • Analyse, configure and optimise existing applications within your functional area of responsibility
  • Translate business processes into new, differentiating solutions
  • Design, coordinate and conduct application testing
  • Help develop, customise and extend solutions to ensure their availability and fit to the strategic development of the business
  • Coordinate service requests or change requests
  • Coordinate implementation and improvement projects
  • Stay up to date on available upgrades and market developments
  • Liaise with other IT teams when required.


  • Bachelor’s degree, a mix of consulting and IT skills
  • 5 years of experience in implementing, configuring and supporting Manhattan SCALE Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Experience in ERP, Transportation Management (TMS) and Labour Management (LMS) systems space
  • Knowledge of .NET Framework 4.7 and C# language
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services, NHibernate and stored procedures
  • Knowledge of web services/APIs
  • Strong organisational skills; capable of juggling several project tasks
  • Process-oriented, yet creative
  • Curious and willing to continuously learn more
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in spoken and written English
  • Willing to travel, especially during implementations (up to 50% on average, mostly within Europe)
  • Level-headed in challenging and time-sensitive situations
  • Previous experience with QAD ERP and TMS, Manhattan Scale WMS and TZA ProTrack LMS applications is an advantage.
