Medline’s Growth Spurs 2 New Facility Developments
Medline Europe’s sterile procedure tray (SPT) division, and the company as a whole, continue to enjoy strong growth and increased demand across Europe. To support this growth, Medline has taken on two large expansion projects, enabling the company to increase its footprint in Europe and better address its customers’ needs by producing more products and solutions.
Châteaubriant’s renovation and new building
The design of the Châteaubriant plant and office has been finalised. This building project will offer Medline employees a better and more modern working environment, and will also impact Medline customers who are taking part in our on-site training programme. The new building plan includes four key highlights:
- Around 50 brand new desk/working spaces will be created.
- The plant will be expanded.
- Additionally, part of the plant will be refurbished and redesigned to have the same look and feel as the new additions.
- A dedicated meeting and catering area will be built specifically for Medline’s customer training programme.
Construction will start in January 2020, and the estimated project completion date is June 2021.
Bánovce nad Bebravou’s facility to move to a new site
Additionally, Medline has selected a 100,000 m2 piece of land about 15 kilometres from Bánovce nad Bebravou in a town called Partizánske. This represents the first step in constructing a brand new manufacturing facility, which will replace Medline’s factory that currently operates in Bánovce nad Bebravou. The new plant will also include a clean room and kitting area, benefitting SPTs as well as other product divisions.
The close proximity of this site to Bánovce nad Bebravou was key in the decision making process, as it is Medline’s strong desire to retain all of its employees at the new site. Production in the new facility in Partizánske is scheduled to begin at the end of 2021 or Q1 2022.
